By car...

Coming from the north or south on the A81 motorway (Singen-Stuttgart), take the Horb exit and then head in the direction of Freudenstadt. In Freudenstadt, please keep in the direction of Strasbourg.

If you are driving from the west in the direction of the Black Forest, use the A5 autobahn (Karlsruhe-Basel) and take the Appenweier exit in the direction of Freudenstadt. This route is well signposted.

Hike to the Hotel Zuflucht...

Zuflucht is a district of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach, around 15 kilometers west of Freudenstadt on the Black Forest High Road. The 963 meter high Roßbühl with the Röschenschanze, built in 1794, is located directly west of the village of Zuflucht. The Hoher Kopf, just north of the village, is 943 meters high. The place has less than 100 inhabitants. Near Zuflucht at the Alexanderschanze, the Black Forest High Road forks into the B 500 towards Baden-Baden and the B 28 towards Kehl and Strasbourg. Zuflucht is on the Westweg from Pforzheim to Basel and offers hiking and winter sports opportunities. The name is reminiscent of the difficulties that used to be associated with crossing the Black Forest.

The Oppenauer Steige, a popular route for motorcyclists, leads from Oppenau to the refuge with an incline of up to 18 percent and tight curves.
